XIAOYU (OLIVIA) HU

Ottawa Civil Litigation and Employment Lawyer

Xiaoyu (Olivia) joined Tierney Stauffer LLP in September 2025 as an Associate in the Civil Litigation Practice Group.

Olivia is currently building her civil litigation practice with a particular focus in employment law, privacy, and human rights.

Olivia moved back to her hometown of Ottawa after articling and beginning her career at a litigation boutique in downtown Toronto where she gained experience in labour and employment law, commercial litigation, and class actions.

Since her call to the bar in 2023, Olivia has acted for and provides advice to employers and employees on a wide range of matters including employment contracts, wrongful dismissal, human rights, and workplace policies.

She has appeared before the Small Claims Court and the Superior Court of Justice. In addition to her litigation work, she has assisted with workplace investigations and audits involving allegations of harassment, bullying, and discrimination.

Olivia is conversational in Mandarin and works in our Ottawa office.

In her spare time, Olivia loves reading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her friends.
