For the last 30 years, Ian Stauffer has helped hundreds of clients who have had problems involving personal injury, insurance, employment, professional malpractice and defamation. He has worked for both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil litigation cases. He has extensive experience before civil juries. Additionally, Ian has mediated and arbitrated over 2,000 disputes.
Ian began his working life after graduating from Carleton University and Queen’s University. He taught for several years before going to the University of Ottawa to obtain his law degree. He has delivered papers and participated in practical demonstrations for many professional organizations throughout the Province.
Due to his experience, Ian has been awarded the designation of Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada and with a Chartered Mediator designation by the ADR Institute of Canada.
Ian believes in giving back to the community. He helped to start the Law Day Run/Walk and the “Lawyer Play”. Both annual events have raised thousands of dollars for various charities.
Presently, Ian is devoting his energy to the Ottawa Lawyers Feed the Hungry program which operates out of the Ottawa Mission. Since 2010, thousands of hot meals have been paid for and served by volunteers from the legal community.
